December 1st- Lighting of the Community Christmas Tree at Memory Lane Park at 5:30 p.m.

Participate in the Christmas Card Run on Dec. 1st-  Go to Turp's NAPA, Whistle Stop, R.F. Goeke's, Bassett Thrift Shop and the Bassett Lodge and Range Cafe between 1-5:30 p.m.  Pick a card at each stop and hand them in at the Community Christmas Tree Lighting.  The person with the best "Poker" hand will win a $10 gift certificate from each of the 5 stores for a $50 value.  All 5 of these stores will be open on Sundays in December for your shopping convenience!

December 7- Join us at the Range Cafe for Jerry Barlow's Celtic Christmas on Saturday, December 7th.  The event is sponsored by the Bassett Arts Council and begins with dinner at 6:00 p.m. followed by Jerry Barlow's entertaining guitar music.  Tickets are on sale now at Bassett Lodge and Range Cafe, Sandhills State Bank, TriCounty Bank, and at Keller Abstract.  $15 per person includes meal and music!

December 8- Community Christmas Concert at 7:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Bassett.  Don't miss this exciting chance to hear the music of the season by local musicians and a combined Community Choir. Free to the public.

Also - don't forget you can shop on Sunday.  Participate in the "Christmas Window Search and Find".  You may pick up a game sheet at Turp's NAPA, Whistle Stop, R.F. Goeke's, Bassett Thrift Shop and the Bassett Lodge and Range Cafe between 1-4:00 p.m.  How to Play:  Go to the windows of the businesses listed and search for the out of place object.  Write down what the object is and where it is located in their window.  Once the sheet is completely filled out, turn it in to one of the 5 listed businesses and enter your name in a drawing for a $50 Bassett Bucks gift certificate!

December 15-  Come to the Range Cafe for Sunday buffet!  Open every Sunday from 10:30 to 2:00.  But this Sunday is special.  Santa will be there to listen to all of the children's Christmas wishes.  Also, you may tour the Bassett Lodge and see their newly decorated and renovated rooms.  Crafts and Vendors will also be on hand.  You can also get some special saving's coupons to use at the other area businesses open that day.

December 22nd-  Come to the Rock County Senior Center from 2-4 p.m. to enjoy Christmas cookies and some Christmas music performed by local youth and area artists.

Looking ahead to 2014...

If you like the lounge music of the 50's and 60's then you will love the "Rat Pack" coming to Bassett for a dinner theater on January 25, 2014 at the Legion Club.  Watch for details and ticket sales.  You won't want to miss this fun!
